From Quantum Learning October 21st, 2024 |
Qiskit v1.0 marks the start of a new chapter in the history of quantum programming—one centered on performance, stability, and usability. Qiskit SDK is an open-source software development kit for quantum computing originally launched in 2017. Seven years later, Qiskit has reached a significant milestone with the release of Qiskit SDK v1.0, its first major version. Qiskit 1.0 greatly simplifies the process of building and transpiling quantum circuits at the utility scale, a realm of computational problem solving beyond even the most powerful brute force classical methods. In this video, developers Ali Javadi, Matthew Treinish, and Abby Mitchell detail the journey that has brought Qiskit to where it is today, and explore some of the amazing new features and capabilities introduced with Qiskit 1.0.
