An application image consists of a set of application components from the same IBM Z mainframe. After creating the application components, you'll need to combine them into a single application image which can be deployed and provisioned to a target environment. An application image must contain only one application component that contains your system residence volumes and any number of other components that might represent your application, application data, or any number of subsystems such as CICS® or IMS™.
