This video demonstrates how easy it is to create a ZUnit test case on a main program using the Dynamic Test Runner.
The Dynamic Test Runner data collection process can intercept calls made by user application programs to various subsystems or other programs, and record details about those calls. You can use the Dynamic Test Runner to generate test cases for CICS COBOL and Db2 programs.
This video steps through modifying the ZUnit recording preferences, creating or modifying Db2 program data in the test editor, and using JCL to record and capture your test data. Once the recording is complete, you’ll learn how to modify and re-record the test data, or proceed to generate, build and run a test case.
Note:
You can use this procedure to record data for local or remote batch and batch/Db2 programs. For either source location, you need a connection to a remote system. While recording data for batch applications, ZUnit submits JCL to the remote system to execute the application and capture data. A remote connection is required even when the source files are located on a local workstation. Refer to the' ZUnit-Getting Started with a Remote Project’ video for more detailed information.
