Unit 6, Section 12: Database Scan Utility

The use of the DB Scan utility is required for non-HALDB databases that are not being reorganized, but participate in logical relationships with one or more databases that are being reorganized. The use of the Scan utility is never required for HALDB databases because HALDB corrects (heals ) the pointers in logically related segments that point to segments in a database that has been reorganized.
