Unit 5, Section 11: IMS Generation

Merely installing the executable module is not sufficient for IMS. After IMS software is installed, an IMS system must be configured by performing an IMS Gen (IMS Generation), which is also sometimes call “IMS SYSGEN” or “IMSGEN”. This video describes how system programmers run IMS generation to configure the system. This video also briefly describes ETO, which is an optional feature of IMS that is applicable only for IMS TM (IMS DB/DC or IMS DCCTL) systems with VTAM devices.
