Unit 2, Section 2: Direct and Symbolic Parent Pointers

This video compare direct and symbolic parent pointers. Direct parent pointers are almost always the faster of pointer types and correspond to what we normally think of when we use the term pointer. Symbolic parent pointers are really the logical parent segment’s concatenated key (LPCK) of the target logical parent segment.
