Unit 1 Section 8: ACBGEN and the IMS Catalog

This video describes the ACBGEN process. ACBGEN is an IMS utility that creates control blocks used at execution-time from metadata information historically stored as PSB members of PSBLIB and DBD members from DBDLIB. The resulting control blocks produced and stored in ACBLIB are PSB members based on PSB members of the same name from PSBLIB. This video also describes the characteristics and uses of the IMS catalog, which is an IMS database (HALDB) that stores metadata about IMS resources such as DBDs and PSBs.
