The latest release of the PowerHA SystemMirror cluster software now supports the Resource Optimized High Availability (ROHA) feature for AIX instances running on Power Virtual Server infrastructure. This enables an integrated way for clustered instances to perform the automatic adjustment of CPU and Memory resources. The presentation starts with illustrating how to quickly provision new instances on Power Virtual Server via the cloudshell and a number of the considerations and requirements to implement this type of solution. Members of the ATG team demonstrate the PowerHA with ROHA feature and its implementation together with an Oracle 19c database configured in an active/passive HA configuration. Details shared include: application scripts, tunables, along with some tips and lessons learned.
