This tool is also sometimes referred to as the Exit Point Tool as it makes use of IBM i Exit Points to protect your system. Normally, a user can use any interface to access your system, including interfaces such as FTP and ODBC. If your company wants to selectively limit who can use these advanced data access methods, the Network Interface Firewall is for you! Here you can choose what user or groups have access to which interfaces and from which source IP addresses! Have the power to only allow FTP inside the office or limit ODBC connections only from other, authorized servers.
