The IBM Climate-Control Diamondback tape library displays status information on the front door, indicating when it is safe to open the library doors.
When the library displays the red stop sign, do not open the library doors. Pressing the white button initiates the Request Door Open (RDO) process. If the red stop light is on, the system begins a controlled sequence to raise the internal temperature above the external air’s dew point. This prevents condensation on internal components. Once the temperature is safe, the green light turns on, indicating that the library doors can be opened for service.
