Topics include: Thomas Watson Jr. giving his thoughts on growing competition, solid state computing, the new 1210 check sorter, the 1620 road show, Subscription Service Datacenter at Time Magazine, the new Executary dictating machine from IBM Lexington, space and defense efforts, Army Mobile Informer Computer, Air Force Q31, clean room assembly, new Systems Engineering division, piping problem at Enrico Fermi Atomic Power Plant, Hundred Percent Club, radio dispatching, suggestion awards, respect for the individual, new building in West Berlin (including speeches by Mayor Willy Brandt and Arthur Watson). A section on IBM Research in Yorktown features Dr. Stephenson and Dr. Peter Sorokin working on an optical laser, Russian to English language translation, cryogenics and thin film memory, silicon growth.
