In this session, you will learn two key things - 1) the features of the new IBM z16 that impact FICON SAN configuration, and 2) the best practices for deploying mainframe FICON SAN solutions. We will evaluate the impact of the IBM z16 FICON Express32S on existing SAN environments, the characteristics of 32G capable FICON storage arrays, the role of Logical Switches for FICON deployments, and data center deployments of a 64G storage infrastructure. We will also review the new FICON Management features within the IBM SANnav Management Portal tool.
